There can be moments and times when you just cannot wait. It may not happen often but when it does, it usually is significant. They could not wait til morning.
These two men recognised the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ when He took bread and blessed it at table in their home, and a decision was made immediately to return to Jerusalem and inform the others.
They had met him on the road as they walked from Jerusalem to their home village, and what an exciting conversation they enjoyed. The cut and thrust was rivetting. Do not go rushing out preaching and witnessing and trying to heal the sick, until you have all the equipping which you will require.
John the Baptist spoke of Jesus doing this. Jesus taught that He would do it. The Father promised these disciples that this would happen, and it did. There are times when it is almost impossible to be patient and wait until daybreak, and there are times when it is essential that we exercise patience.
Waiting patiently is one of the hardest things God can ask a man to do. Leaders must know what to do and when.
Jesus promises help. He promises peace. He promises power. He promises to be with us always. Why miss out on anything God has to offer?
